Project SINAG at PhilGEOS 2023

Project SINAG successfully attended and actively participated in PhilGEOS 2023, the renowned Philippine Geomatics Symposium. This biennial event brought together geomatics technology developers, researchers, experts, users, and students on December 6-7, 2023 at the UP Institute of Biology Auditorium. Project SINAG demonstrated their creative investigation into the use of geomatics in solar PV (photovoltaic) technology. Presenting their results, the symposium provided a platform for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and networking.

Project SINAG presented the following five papers:

1. Slope Analysis of CLOT-adjusted SSI FY4A Data for Solar PV Power Potential in the Philippines

2. Comparative Analysis of CLOT-Adjusted AHI-8/9 And FY-4A Solar Radiation Data For Solar PV Power Potential Assessment in the Philippines

3. Assessment of Solar PV Output Performance with Varying Tilt Angles and Weather Data from ERA5: Case of Muntinlupa City, Philippines

4. Assessment of Reanalysis Data for Solar PV Output Forecasting in the Philippines: Case of Pangasinan, Negros Occidental, and Davao Del Norte 

5. Development of a WebGIS for Solar PV Resource and Installation Assessment Using Geospatial Technologies

These papers will be published in the ISPRS Archives.

We also rejoice with our Senior Science Research Specialist, Engr. Ian. B. Benitez, for winning the Best Presenter Award.
